So can we chat for just a second before you carry on? good, thanks for taking a minute for this I promise to be quick. So durring a conversation ith a couple of folks at Pennsic this (2004) year I'm talking about the difficulty of getting established in a new group. Everybody is saying how it is no big deal, but if you know me you know how much I hate people. If you are on my cool list, I'm pretty open and relaxed, but if I dont know you, I'm extreamlly shy. So somebody says "you know what would be good? why not put all of your 'stats' up on your website? You hit a new area, drop the link to the local fencing group." At first I just forgot about it, then I was having a discussion with one (no wait, two) of the White Scarves that evening and it was mentioned that one of my problems was that I didn't really promote myself, nobody really knows what I do besides fence... *click* So anyway, look if you want to, don't if you don't. In the end this page is all about ego and I'm not really to cool with that but what the hell. I've already been burnt for this page, but on the other end I guess that encurring wrath is a result of effective promotion :)
